Learning how to focus the mind through breath work and meditation is very beneficial for labor and delivery. Deep breathing and visualization exercises create clarity and equanimity, making your body a peaceful place for your baby to develop.
Benefits of Prenatal Yoga
From the Mayo Clinic, studies have suggested that prenatal yoga helps expecting mothers have better sleep, reduced stress, and reduced anxiety. A regular prenatal yoga class will improve the flexibility and strength of the muscles used in childbirth, as well as reducing the typical aches and pains associated with pregnancy (back pain, headaches, nausea). Studies have also shown that prenatal yoga lowers the risk of premature birth, hypertension, and intrauterine growth restriction.
Prenatal Yoga Classes
Yoga Path Palm Beach offers prenatal yoga classes, organized into a regular, repeating series. Our schedule is updated regularly and you are welcome to join at any point in the series, so that you may finish the series with everyone else. Single class drop-ins are allowed, depending on availability and cancellations (please call or stop by the studio to sign up, in this case). If you give birth or must skip a week, we offer credit towards our other classes.
