200 HOUR TEACHER TRAINING

 

This Yoga Alliance registered training will be led by Chelsea Gage E-RYT 500, Angi Vergara E-RYT 500/YACEP, and Amanda Palermo E-RYT 200/YACEP. Be prepared to go on a journey of mind, body, and soul. Combining a complete understanding of vinyasa with the foundations of therapeutic yoga and the eight limbs of yoga, this training will give you the tools to enhance your practice while having the knowledge and confidence to guide others on and off the mat. 

 

Through our Teacher Training program, you will:

  • Learn proper alignment of yoga poses and basic anatomy

  • Explore the philosophy and history of yoga

  • Understand how to sequence postures/asanas in a skillful manner

  • Practice dynamic communication to guide a class in a safe and effective manner

  • Immerse in an introduction to meditation

  • Observe bodies and begin to learn how to give safe hands-on physical adjustments to empower your students' understanding of their bodies

  • Find your voice as you learn to embrace and share your unique perspective on the practice of yoga

  • Learn tools to structure and create a cohesive, dynamic, well-rounded class

  • Learn about marketing & the business of yoga

  • Growth and expansion through this unique journey of self-discovery

Standards for Yoga Path Teacher Training

TECHNIQUES: Includes asanas, pranayama, kriyas, mantra, meditation and other traditional yoga techniques. Hours will be a mix of training in the techniques and practice of them.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY: Communication skills, time management, boundaries, addressing specific needs of individuals. Principles of demonstration, observation, and assisting. Learning to empower yourself and your students.

ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY: Includes human anatomy and physiology, energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.) Includes both the study of anatomy and physiology along with its application to yoga practice (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc.)

PHILOSOPHY/ETHICS/LIFESTYLE: Study of yoga philosophies and traditional texts, yoga lifestyle, ethics for yoga teachers, understanding the value of teaching yoga.

PRACTICUM: Practice teaching as the lead instructor, receiving and giving feedback, observing others teaching and assisting.

BALANCE OF HOURS: The requirements detailed above ensure that all trainees of RYS receive training and instruction in five educational categories for a minimum number of designated hours. The remaining contact hours (55 hours) and elective hours (15 hours, either contact or non-contact) are to be distributed among the five educational categories, but the hours may be allocated at the discretion of each RYS based on their program's focus.

  • Early Bird: $2,700

  • Regular Price starting Aug 1: $2,900

Unlimited yoga is included in the price of tuition and will be activated as early as tuition is paid in full and will continue through the end of training.

REFUND POLICY

Deposit with Application:

There is a non-refundable $200 deposit to apply for the training. (The deposit will be returned to you if you are not accepted into the training.)

Cancellations Before the Training Begins:

  • If you cancel 14 days or more before Day 1 of the training, you will be refunded the full amount minus the non-refundable $200 deposit.

  • If you cancel between 7 and 13 days before Day 1 of the training, you will be refunded the full amount minus a $150 administrative fee and the non-refundable $200 deposit. (A total of $350 will be withheld.)

  • After payment has been received, if notice of cancellation is given 7 days before Day 1 of Teacher Training, a refund will not be possible but if requested in writing, an account credit will be applied to a future Teacher Training Program. Credit will only be valid towards the same training and will have an expiration time frame of two years from the starting day of the missed training. Credit will not be valid towards any other purchases. Non-transferable.

  • If we receive your cancellation request less than 7 days before Day 1 of Teacher Training, on the day of, or anytime thereafter, a refund or credit will not be possible under any circumstances.
